Hi Robert,
The "Fangrost" was what I was talking abt. in my last post.
Irrespective of the sources quoted by you, it is a fact, that no concrete pen/bunker's roof was penetrated by any kind of Allied bomb, where such bombcatchers were installed. Repeat none.
Only penetration of bunker roofs were acchieved, where such Fangroste were not yet installed.
I was able to tour Valentine, when I was supervising the building of two small container ships across the river in the early 70's.
There were indeed two impressively big holes in the roof in the 1/3 end portion near the river. By no means was the 'roof brought down'. By war's end Valentine was still unfinished and Fangroste were not installed. Today Valentine is used by a Logistics Outfit of the German Army as a storage facility. Rgds, RB
