More on MARQUES DE MUDELA. Seems that the only u-boat in the Bay of Biscay at the time was U 52, which did not sink this vessel. I would guess then that MARQUES DE MUDELA hit a mine, perhaps one dropped by UC 71 earlier in August though I can't be certain of that without knowing the exact location where this steamer was hit.
