Freddy,
Piet isn't the only one wit a database of ships sunk (or in Yves and my case, sunk, damaged, or captured). For Belgian vessels, I have:
60 vessels sunk by U-boat (torpedo/gunnery/scuttled)
5 vessels mined (three on U-boat laid mines)
3 vessels damaged by U-boat
4 vessels taken as a prize/captured by U-boat
Yves and I a few cases that we haven't been able to fully work out and would be intereested in additional details on:
GASCONIER, 2986 grt, 20/8/1918, 2 miles off Rovaer not in Spindler - Mined?
MINISTRE DE SMET DE NAEYER, 2712 grt, 6/4/1918, Mined 45 miles N of Doggerbank LV not in Spindler -or "S" (Lloyd code for submarine), if mined, then not a submarine laid mine
EVARISTUS (lighter), 130 grt, 26/5/1916, 18 miles off Nordhinder LV -- possible sunk by UC3? (time of day, details of sinking welcome)
FLANDRES, 4517 grt, 7/4/1918, Mined "about 4 miles SW of Buoy No1., North Sea" (or 8/4/1918) -- anyone have a location
L'AVENIR (s/v), ?grt, 28/9/1916,North Sea: Route: Rotterdam for London
PAYS BAS ((s/v), ?grt, 28/9/1916,North Sea: Route: Rotterdam for London
Best wishes,
Michael
