Michael,
NIEUPORT, CENOBIC, Z 10 DAVID MARIE, LEON MATHILDE (grt unknown) are f/vessels.
Z 20 was also a Belgian f/v but under Nederland flag. She was suspected of intelligence activities, captured and towed to Zeebrugge.
For fisching boots, “Z†means recorded in the port of Zeebrugge, “O†for Ostende, “N†for Nieuport. For the rest, I have the same info as you !
Wat I have about the :
HASTIER : 749 grt build in 1918 in Schieldrecht (NL) for the Lloyd Royal Belge C°. She ‘disappeared’ on her maiden-trip (mine ?) in may1919. 17 crew + captain SIERENS lost.
Following some sources (non confirmed) she could have been torpedoed on 12.04.1918 ?
KELTIER : she had a cargo of 1.090 standards of wood for Calais. Was damaged but didn’t sunk and was towed for repair to Falmouth (G.
She was finally torpedoed by U-55 between Milford Haven and New-York on the 31.12.1917. 37 crew lost.
SERESIA : damaged on Pos 59°38 N-04°58 W but recovered Swansea. 106 days refit. She finally run ashore and was lost on the 02.02.1929.
HAELEN : Pos 60°09 N – 02°40 E.
KURLAND : as far as I know, she sunk after collision on 05.00 a.m. with one ‘unidentified’ ship who didn’t assist her. Later one could determinate that it was the s/s DEVENTIA sailing in convoy, without fanals.
Any other question? please apply !
Cheers,
Freddy.
