She was certainly built by Barclay, Curle & Co., Ltd., Glasgow as Yard No.404 in Nov 1896, but for the Guyana S.S. Co., Ltd. Glasgow and Caw, Prentice, Clapperton & Co, were the managers and launched as the GUYANA (Official No.106040)
In 1896 she was renamed CITY OF LUCKNOW by City Line, Ltd. Glagow and G. Smith & Sons was the managers
G. Smith & Sons, Glasgow was the registered owner in 1900
She was torpedoed and sunk by U 21 on 30 April 1916, 60 miles east of Malta, voy. Alexandria - Liverpool, onions
There was a CITY OF LUCKNOW launched by W. Gray & Co., Ltd., West Hartlepool in 1917 for City of Oran S.S. Co., Ltd. (Hall Line, Ltd.), Liverpool run by Ellerman
This vessel was Torpedoed and sunk by UB 50, 21 Dec 1917, 50 miles NE by N ½ N of Cani Rocks (38.10N-10.30E), voy. Glasgow - Calcutta, general cargo
