Hi Jim,
The pdf of the article should be in your inbox. It says the City of Lucknow survivors were shipped from Glasgow to NY on the California; I would think that this is likely as this was the California's usual run. However, she did briefly do duty as a troopship, and off the top of my head I do not precisely know her start and end dates yet for when she served that purpose. Thus, if she was a troopship at the time, she may indeed have picked them up somewhere other than Scotland. I will have to consult my records and see if she what I have about her war service at the time of this incident, and I will post them to this thread.
