<HTML>Oliver,
I am not aware of any German sub that actually carried a plane into position for reconnaise or attack. I know the Germans had a sub/plane conceptual idea, and the Americans a great fear of it, especially of a sub launched attack on NY. The Gremans lacked the means to do it, but who knew that early in the war? The Gremans also played with launching rockets from subs, I believe they actually had primative trials, but such stuff was waylaid by Hitlers decree that all R&D must pay off within one year or be stopped.
The Japanese actually attacked Oregon with sub launched planes, bombed a cannery and lighthouse I think. One of those '1942' movie kinda things. I read the Japanese sub captain's book, but of course cannot remember its name. The book was good, because it was told from a perspective almost never represented.
The US actually launched rockets at Japanese landbased targets, similar to the Japanese Oregon attack. Relatively effective due to massed launches.
