<HTML>Hello
I was not familiar with Grossadmiral Raeder personally. I know a little about this man. For this reason I can not tell about him anything bad or good. I assume, that up to 1941 in USSR friendly related to the Admiral. Some operations Russian carried out at the request of Kriegsmarine. As an example may be result successful returning to Germany of a cruiser "Bremen" which was blocked by Royal Navy in Murmansk in 1940. In that year USSR has lead German warship "Comet" along coast of Siberia up to Bering Strait. 3 Soviet ice breakers took part in this operation. Russian was ready next summer lead on the same route up to 20 German ships. Besides they were ready to give safe basing to the German ships in Murmansk and Vladivostok.
However after an attack of Germany on USSR to these plans was not fated to be carried out. The relation of Russian to the Kriegsmarine and to Grossadmiral accordingly has changed dramatically. When Grossadmiral Raeder in 1942 has arrived to Crimea and has visited some naval bases someone probably watched his moving and informed Russian. The Soviet aircraft attacked base which visited Raeder. However these attacks were late a little. Grossadmiral had time to leave base prior to attack.
I consider that the Germans have chosen not the best tactics of use of the battleships in Norway. The impression is created, that they aspired not to put damage to an enemy, but as quickly as possible return in Norwegian fjords. At correct tactics Kriegsmarine had good chance to put very serious damage to the Soviet Northern fleet and even completely stop the Soviet navigation in Arctic Region. Hitler had basis to be dissatisfied action of Kriegsmarine under Raeder rules.
It is well know that Grossadmiral Reader was condemned for 10 years by Nuremberg tribunal. I assume, that it was made under the initiative of the Allies. That time Russian have many other important businesses and they seldom recollected about Raeder.
