<HTML>In me matured the plan to use Sherhorn for the recruiting of German Admiral Raeder, who commands of Navy, removed by Hitler from the performance of its responsibilities in 1943. Being in the captivity, Raeder was located in Moscow. Later, on its request, to Moscow arrived his wife. It seemed it was tuned to the collaboration with us - in exchange for the promise not to present to it charge as to military criminal at the Nuremberg tribunal, although the British side insisted on his attraction to the law court for the operations of German submarines against the Royal Navy and the unarmed merchant ships.
I settled him with the wife in my country house, but it soon ascertained that my plan of action on the Admiral through Sherhorn was unreal, since they proved to be incompatible with each other. More beneficially acted on Admiral Serebryansky, who was on my country house under the confinement to quarters as "POW" (he played the role of German businessman). Serebryansky was possible to convince Admiral that he would renew in Germany its acquaintances and connections. Raeder, it is remembered, greatly pleased jaunts along the Moscow River on the captured limousine "Horh" - precisely similar he had in Germany.
At the end of 1945 we sent Raedera to Germany. British side continued to insist on the legend to its law court as military criminal. How I remember, we achieved agreement with the British and the Americans on this problem. Raeder and several other highest officers of German Navy and another group of officers were transmitted to Allies in exchange for former Czar General Krasnov, who commanded in the Civil War Cossack Army, and at the WW2 served in the staff of Wehrmacht, and Soviet officers, who were battling in the Army of Vlasov. Sherhorn was also returned into Germany, and my connections with these people were interrupted.
