<HTML>John, if the game is accurate you should pre radar close on surface at night fire all weapons and attempt to open range at high speed on surface to evade. On the bow (port or stbd) of the convoy mean line of advance is probably a good place to start the sequence.

Once escorts get radar it is far more problematic. my suggestion is to choose daylight periscope attacks. Position yourself in the grain ahead of the convoy MLA taking very very quick looks at pd. your slow speed means you cant sit to one side due to probable ZZ. Pick your targets as they approach and fire when the angle looks ok. Immediately on firing go deep below the layer and commence evasive course away from escorts. If detected vary course and speed and depth but remain stealthy. use decoys eg bold if you have em. lots of luck?? the type 7/9 uboat was a marginal weapon against NA convoys by 41/42.</HTML>
