Bernhard Rogge was the commander of the raider Atlantis and had that ship sunk under him in 1941. He was a respected commander of that navy prison camp. He had fallen out of favour somewhat with the regime top brass but his reputation was in order with the Allies after the war ended. I have a feeling that he played a part in the postwar Bundesmarine and maybe the north Atlantic alliance setup.
I would be interested in seeing a copy of the cuttings if you can scan or post them..
