<HTML>Derek:

A newly published book, "The Cruise of the German Raider Atlantis" by Joseph P. Slavick, details Bernhard Rogge's career after the loss of the Atlantis.

Briefly, he was promoted to Konteradmiral in 1943 and then to Vizeadmiral in 1945. In the last days of the war he commanded "Task Force Rogge" frrom his flagship the Prinz Eugen which was under the command of Kapitan zue See Reinicke. Both men were aboard when the vessel was surrendered to the British at Copenhagen on May 8, 1945.

There is no way a man of Rogge's rank and experience would have been in charge of a prison camp.

Cordially.
