Hello,
Thanks to your post, I visited Wikipedia.My German being more than rusty, I used the automatic translation system provided by Google, to read it in French ( Impossible to have it in English through Google.fr ).Translation was more than strange, and I had to read it several times to understand, but in any case I got a lot of very interesting information about this very strange person.
I am also quite sure, due to his family name and given name, that he was of French origin, certainly from a family who migrated from France to Prussia ( at that time )for religious reasons, when Protestants were prosecuted and expelled by Lois XIV.
