Good evening Jean-Noël
At least I tried: U-907 is mentioned a couple of times in the book Deutsche U-Boote vor Norwegen 1940-1945 by Svein Aage Knudsen, So I asked Mr. Knudsen about this incident. He found it interesting, but he hadn't heard about it.
One place in the book Cabolet is mentioned as a passenger with a serious leg injury on his way home to Germany from Norway around Cristmas 1942. (before he was assigned to a U-boat). He had to be accompanied by a doctor (who is the star of this story) on the journey. The doctor got drunk and harassed some soldiers. They made a complaint and the doctor was sentenced to 4 weeks of house arrest. Cabolet spent several months in hospital. In December 1994 he was back in Norway as commander of U-907.
In a story about strict self-justice among the Germans the book also mentions an episode from Bergen in May 1945.
The interend crew of U-907 had on the 28th of May celebrated Jäckels Knights Cross. One of the crew (Walter Küppers) left the restricted Millitary area to see a Norwegian girlfriend home. He was arrested by German MP's in the city centre of Bergen (three weeks after the war was ended!). He spent the night in custody and was released the next day to the quay area where he was received by a quite annoyed Hans Rudolf Rösing.
Cheers
