Hello, Ken,
I share your opinion about reliability of Wikipedia, but I remember having read somewhere ( But where ? )a story about this commander explaining that he was lucky to escape
military courts due to some unusual behaviour, comparison being made with the CO who commited suicide in jail after being sentenced to death for cowardice ( Hirzäcker, if I remember correctly ).So question remains open : Is there any serious source for this case ?
