After reading "WAR DAMAGE REPORT OF THE SALMON (SS-182)" on page 236,
of APPENDIX 6 in John D. Alden's "The Fleet Submarine in the U.S. Navy" I can understand why the depth-charging scenes in "DAS BOOT" are so vivid and
believable.
