<HTML>I remembered the breakdown incident wrong, it definitely was Franz in the book.

According to the info at this site, Hans Johannsen is still alive and I haven't heard any rumours of a legal case in that respect. I'm not so sure if he could have, anyway.

After all, if I remember right, it's said that the movie is based on the book (not real life directly). In the book (based on real life) it's Franz who breaks down. So it could be argued that the breakdown is fictional. In addition, it's obvious to any German speaker that Johan is from Austria, with his south Bavarian accent. Hans Johanssen was born in Stadum, which is in the opposite end of Germany, just 13 miles south of Denmark.

But still, I agree that it's an odd decision, given the background facts.</HTML>
