Just like Admiral Lutjens did on BISMARCK? The Brits used their radar
to great advantage, and see what happened.
How could the Japanese aircraft detect the sub's radar emisssion?
Electronic counter-measure (ECM) was not installed on Japanese
aircraft. Perhaps the few U.S. submarine commanders missed an
important briefing before they went out on patrol. :-))
I'll ask an olde Chief Fire Controlman about the use of radar during the
sub operations in the Pacific and get back to you, OK?
Best regards,
