John, According to U-103 KTB for 22 May 1942 - San Pablo was sighted at 1410. U 103 dived at 1638 then surfaced at 1810 and at 1857 opened artillery fire. The San Pablo radioed for help identifying herself and fired a distress signal. The CO (Winter) of U 103 also noted that the prospects of a hit on the vessel were slim.
