Just a follow-up for readers interested in this controversy. Despite all the disagreement about HMS URGE, Francesco and I remain the best of friends!

We dined together last week and today we were at the Ufficio Storico trying to locate more documents that could shed light on the disappearance of HMS URGE (and HMS UPHOLDER). Unfortunately we could not find anything new although Francesco led the search in several files. I took the opportunity to show him copies of the report written by Captain S.10 on the loss of HMS URGE. The NEREIDE's patrol report which described the encounter with HMS PORPOISE was also shown. We were also joined by our good friend Francesco De Domenico who tactfully remained neutral!
I am afraid we failed to convince each other and only the discovery of the wreck (with physical evidence at least in my opinion!) will take care of this Gordian knot.
