Woody,

My sources have verified that the deck was painted the sma dark grey as the hull. I paitned my u-99 (actualy u-48, with cat times three meblem) blakc, to ressemble the war and all. Suffice it to say the natural color on the deck is a major blooper by the folks at fineartmodels.com. Otherwise, it is a beutifful model.
Incidentally, I am now strongly considering picking up the Amati kit. If you could please outlien in detail the difficulties you had, that maight assist me in making a decision. Also, I was wondering how difficult it would be to fit the AA gun on the towe, as in the box the submarine is in 1936 configuration, with the 20mm AA gun on the main deck.
