Modeling and schematics
I haven't completed adding the deck and side plates yet, so no paint. I'll probably
go with the grey, althought the case could be made for anti-foul red: the model
would then represent a boat just completed, prior to painting hull grey.
Regarding the AA guns, the only way to add these to the wintergarten would
be to scratch build a new, larger one. The problem with this is the Amati has
etched brass decks, and I don't have a clue how to make the little square holes
the model has on the conning tower deck. When I get to that point I might
call model Expo and see if they can get me some extra brass deck. That would
be the ideal solution, since this model has the later modified ventilation.
Has anyone out there examined ,or building, an Accurate Armour VII C?
If my VIIB comes out ok, maybe I can talk my wife into a 7ft sub! I'm curious
as to the quality and skills required on that kit. Regards, Greg
