German equivalent of this, perhaps?

The way it was explained to me -- and I suspect Bob could explain it a lot better -- you could program the torpedoes from this station in the forward torpedo room if there was a problem with the link to the TDC in the conning tower. This one is located in USS Cod (SS-224), in Cleveland.
