Depth Charges and ASDIC/Sonar

Hallo,

What effect did depth charge explosions have on the attacking surface unit's ASDIC or sonar systems? Do the explosions temporarily diminish or black out the attacking ships ASDIC or sonar? If so, for how long? How broad is the area that is affected?
