The RN claimed their Mark VII Heavy depth charge could split a 22mm hull from 20ft away. It used 290lbs of amatol, which was a cheap wartime substitute for better explosives. Using the same quantity of minol (amatol plus 20% aluminum) increased the kill radius to 26ft.
Some sources say the Mark 14 used an acoustic fuze, not magnetic. Which is correct?
