Hi Jukka,
been away a couple days and did not see your post. When I was dealing in the shipping business abt. 20y ago the really big two strokes from Sulzer, MAN or B&W were all running abt 125-130 g/hp/h. This ofc basically on a little better that "heated asphalt" :-)) i.e. heavy fuel of anywhere between 3500 to 1500 Redwood 1. Understand that fuel consuption has improved by now another 5 %.
I am not very familiar with US boat ops, thus I do not mind, actually like JT's, RM's and others answering with their experiences. Not to late to learn. But my understanding is that they were comparative fuel hogs - at least 10-15% above the MAN's. Forgot the source. Rgds, RB
