I only quoted what was said and I think it was a rough number that he thought of as displacement or what ever. I have sailed back & forth to Europe on the North German Lloyd sister ships and on the the Cunard Line Queens 23 years later. All were close to 50,000 tons (type ?) or more in displacement. Large cruise ships are in that range also and bigger. I'm not a tonnage eggspurt >{ |8 <) }.
