<HTML>In addition to copying captured torpedoes, there was also the information gained from German treason, particularly the 1940 "Oslo Report" in which many electronic developments including everything on acoustic torpedoes was given to the British. This is how the British had the "Foxer" ready before the first "Falke" was ever used. Considering that the British shared most things with the Americans, it is quite likely that the "Oslo Report" found its way to the US.
