<HTML>Das Boot WAS a box-office success in the U.S., so this \"English only\" remark to totally untrue. Sick and tired of hearing Brits and Americans, in general, going on about only wanting to watch a film in their own lingo. Xenophobia cha cha cha. Or perhaps it\'s to disguise their lack of reading capabilities.
And must I mention Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon being a box-office success ? That one was in Mandarin. So surely when it\'s a good film, your lot will come to see it.
As for the rest of your remarks, watch Star Wars. Plenty of booms and bangs to keep you happy. The slow pace in Das Boot is to reflect the boredome during such missions and reflect how life really was, i.e. no action every 2 minutes but why do I bother explaining ...
Das Boot is category \'Drama\'. The action in it was an optional extra.
