This is fantastic news !
At last a factual, historically accurate film account on the Laconia incident.
From reading your original posting as well as the replies, it looks like there is a strong enthousiasm for a film of this type especially that most if not all movies on the subject (besides Das Boot), fall very far short of the mark and are just too "Holywood".
I wish you the best of luck on this project.
Note: The topic of the German U Boat warfare during WWII is exceptionally fertile ground for movie ideas. The account described in "Iron Coffins" stands-out in my mind (perhapse a series?).
