General Events during this patrol

1942

15 Sep 1942. U-507 (together with U-156 and U-506 and the Italian submarine Cappellini) took part in the rescue operations after the sinking of Laconia in September 1942 off Africa. About 1500 men were saved by these boats and by French ships from Dakar (which arrived on 16 Sept, four days after the sinking).

7 Oct 1942. Stormy weather in the North Atlantic made life difficult for those at sea. One of the crew suffered a crushed hand on U-507, and some 1,000 miles to the north, one of the lookouts on U-621 broke an arm.
