3 Oct 1941. U-129 was accompanying the German support ship Kota Pinang when the latter was sunk by the British cruiser HMS Kenya. The U-boat took 119 (!) survivors aboard and handed them over to Spanish custody three days later.
6 Oct 1941. U-129 transferred the 119 survivors from the sinking of the Kota Pinang to a Spanish tug off Finisterre.
