I can recall the noise not only of the cocking of the ram mechanism but even more on firng and venting inboard

I also remember on the Brit boats that I served on they also used the electric wire guided torpedo's. Long time ago now so might be off target a little.

I do remember though that we had two "Routines" a day to come up from deep to blow tanks as stated in my previous.
