I believe I read somewhere that Germany had a wire-guided torpedo under development at the end of the war. If they did (and I think they also were developing other wire-guided weapons late in the war) then perhaps at least the concept was copied from them for our wire-guided torpedoes.

Unfortunately, I can&#8217;t remember where I read it. Perhaps someone else on the forum can clarify the issue.
