<HTML>If the newly formed society or group followed the aims of the u boat archive, and in fact somehow affiliated themselves with it, then this would go a long way to allay any reservations that some might have that the group simply exists to glorify past nazi events and propoganda.
joes concerns are very real, and believe me, will at some time in the future be raised.Its a fact of life. Therefore it would be prudent to have our counter measures and arguments in place right from the very start.Not dissimilar in many ways to this very site, where Gummi issues a political disclaimer.I strongly suggest we do the same.
Terry and many others feel very passionate about how we should be allowed to pursue our interests in such matters, and rightly so. We have to recognise however,that we as a group of people have a responsibility to inform and advise those who would question those same interests, as to their true intent and ethos.
Gentlemen.I propose the way forward is to clarify between ourselves what we want and expect from forming such a group, before it becomes open to a more public debate.I think Joe has done great service in starting this debate and making us aware that we could be getting carried away in the euphoria, without addressing a few pertinent points here.
