The depth charge attack on 7 Sept, 1943 in the Bay of Biscay northwest of Cape Ortegal, Spain,
in position 43.36N, 10.13W, by a Canadian aircraft from RCAF Sqdn 407 is often credited with sinking U-669.
The target was actually U-584, which escaped unscathed.
