Patrol description

Patrol off the Belgian coast to support the German invasion of the Low Countries. On 6 May, the bow of the outbound boat was damaged in a slight collision with a Sperrbrecher when leaving the Kiel canal. U-9 was repaired in Helgoland the same day.
