General Events during this patrol
1944
5 Jul 1944. U-247 sank the British fishing boat Noreen Mary with gunfire (!) approx. 20 miles west of Cape Wrath, Scotland. This was a remarkable event for this stage of the war, when U-boats were continually harried by blanket allied air cover.
