<HTML>Dear Steve,
My question was purely rhetorical in nature.
\"If\" is the key word.
Yes, also the wrecks were surrendered to the victors.
My \"point\" was / is that, even today, the Germans are still demonized in connection to WW II, and all allies were proclaimed saints. I think it is \"acceptable\" now to loot a WW II German submarine. They were Nazis after all, were they not ? So who could care about the shuffling about of some Nazi dead bones for the sake of profit ? Submariners or not ? Who cares ?
If, again \"if\", there were loot to be found in an allied wreck and \"if\" someone had the intention of going for it, my bet is that he may be sent to jail for the mere intention.
I am NOT an advocate of the National Socialist system.
But I think that this war ought to be brought to an end in all its aspects. Also as to the German combatants in the last war (as we call it here).
Only not even a year ago, during one of our investigations about the context in which the XI-B ought to be considered, one of ours obviously asked the wrong questions to the wong persons and died in a very unfortunate hunting accident.
I think investigation for truth is good. Exploring possible war graves for personal pecuniar profit is wrong.
But, then again, this is only my personal opinion and I may be wrong, of course.
With best regards,
Takeo.
