David et al,
This old chestnut again. May I add a little to what Ken said. There is not a single record of any such thing ever having taken place, In the sixty odd years since the end of the war not one U-Boat crew member has mentioned being refuelled/supplied here, NOT ONE! surely if it had happened someone would have spoken or written of it.
As to Irish Republicans having Nazi sympathies, this is hogwash. The IRA operated on the 'My enemy's enemy is my friend' principle would have allied themselves with pretty much anyone who was against Britain. As for the Germans, they mistakenly thought the IRA was a highly organised guerrila group which could be useful to them. They were wrong. The IRA of those days was a bit of a disaster and all of the spies landed in Ireland by the Germans were promptly arrested and locked up in prison.
Also regarding Nazi sympathies in Ireland, I would respectfully draw your attention to the tens of thousands of Irishmen from North and South who joined up and ultimately gave their lives fighting against Hitler.
While there was in fact a whole regiment of British nazis in the German army, not one Irishman fought for Hitler.
