Evening Barry,
Thanks for that information. I came across his story (one version, anyway) a few years ago and was amazed. Even though the version I read was obviously biased, it was clear that he has a special place in the history of the war. His name can still provoke strong reactions from people who were around at the time.
Good luck with the hunt for the recordings (ref: your other post).
