There is excellent footage of the damage to the bows that U of Malta has not released yet. It is clear from them that the wreck does not have the high bow typical of HMS Upholder. Other details, technical and historical, have eliminated the other U-class submarines (we have also considered HMS P33 and HMS P38 which are not on your list). MoD has examined all the documents and proofs provided (it took them several weeks) and have confirmed the identification.
You seem to have been in contact with Mr Misson as your reasoning closely follows his? He initially claimed that we had discovered HMS Odin then changed his mind that it was HMS Usk or HMS Upholder. I think he is upset of our discovery as it cancels his claim that he discovered the wreck at Ras Hilal (Libya). A claim that does not bear scrutiny. He also claimed to have found nine submarines at Tabarka (Tunisia) in a area 300 metres x 300 metres! Charitably, I will make no comment!
Best regards,
Platon
