Hi Oscar,
MAK was making Uboat engines under licence from MAN during WW2. Do not know how many. Basic engine specs should be elsewhere on this website. Type VII had 2x6cyl in line with superchargers, Type IX had 2x9cyl in line with superchargers.

Deutsche Werke, Kiel (formerly the Imperial Naval Shipyard) built and delivered 35 boats type IIa-d, 29 boats type VIIc, 10 type XIV from 1935 to '44. Thereafter until the end of the war only section VIII of the type XXI (ttl 289 planned, actual 150) were delivered. [source: Roessler/Uboat Yards]. Rgds, RB
