Thanks for your info. It was very complete. Now I assume that Mak (now Caterpillar), learned how to produce reliable engines from MAN technology.
Still, is it there somebody who would get for the benefit of all of the U Boat lovers, the tecnical data for those MAN 6 and 9 cylinder engines, like RPM, Displacement, etc.
Based on the assumtion that the engine were directly connected to the propeller ( no speed reducer), those engines were rally low speed units with impressive power outputs.
I would love to compare it with the actual models.
