Danke!!
Cat already rebaptized the engines as CM (Cat-Mak), so they should know!!!. It will be a very interesting lunchtable conversation matter tomorrow with my colleages.
It seems that you know a lot about engines. In order to compare, I would need the actual displacement of the MAN engines. Seems that the numbers attached were bore/stroke. Am I righth?.

Today, the CMs are in the range of 187 grams per bKW, that would be around 140g/bHP, so the old MAN were not bad at all.
Now another question: were the engines directly coupled to the generators, and then to the propellers?. Or there are some kind of Clutches in between?.
