Another good general source listing (some) missed attacks by sub vs. u-boats too is Clay Blair's monumental work 'Hitler's U-Boat War'.
Although he has a 'mission' (namely that King was more interested in countering the u-boat campaign off America and that the u-boats never were a war-winning weapon) - which is subject to discussion/doubt - his book is a very detailed/thorough analysis of the whole campaign listing individual sinkings and including more noteworthy events of each - or at least many - sojourns of the boats.
The problem is that you need to wade through almost 2000 pgs. in order to sift through the information you want. But it is good reading.
