<HTML>Superkraut:
I have also beren puzzled by the Biscay Cross Emission story.
The German record shows that they became afraid that the allies were homing in on the Metox emissions and took countermeasures (stopped using it and tried to build a better replacement).
But I don\'t recall reading any allied histories or stories of actually homing in on a Metox emission, or producing a device to do that.
Are you familiar with any records from the allied side of allied planes actually using Metox emissions to home in on U-boats, or any such \'Metox homing device\' being developed or installed?
The absence of this in the allied record would tend to indicate that the Germans were either msitaken or duped in the Metox affair. But I admit I am not very well read in BOA allied ASW aircraft ops, and may have simply not run across it.
What\'s the scoop?
