<HTML>My expertise is more on the German side, so when I say that I have not read about any Allied Metox receivers, I may be mistaken. However, if they existed, it was not a widely published item. There was a lot of British disinformation around in those days, so the whole thing could be a myth. In any case, the signal strength would have been very low, even if the French had deliberately made the Metox leaky, so I tend to doubt large scale use of such a device assuming it existed at all.
I have a feeling the whole thing was a combination of British disinformation and Kriegsmarine incompetence about radar. Capt. Stummel just did not believe in radar.
