<HTML>Dear Ladies and Gentlmen,
if I may please add to this subject, that Bucheim published a book about the shooting of Das Boot and his fussing and grumbelings with the producer, Petersen and the actors. Erich TOPP just told me a few weeks ago, the Bucheim invited him to attend and asked his advice several times to the shootingscences, where he also met Lehamnn-Willenbrock, and that he thinks PROCHNOW acting as Der Alte did a suberb job and that he can live very well the way Ptersen directed the film. His summary: That's just the way it really happend on board of a U-Boat, when on mission.
Have a nice weekend
Sincerely Yours
