This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

In the beginning, when the crew is loading food and some equipment in the boat there are some moving views inside the sub that remembered me the same scene in Das Boot.
The point, however, is that when a film ties to approach to an historical event they should be more concerned about how was the true story than to reproduce the same clichés of commercial films with differents environments. For example: the fight between the two captains ... unbeleaveble in a soviet nuclear sub in such circumstancies; the \"democratic\" decision to go deeper to prevent the III world war (?????) when they think there\'s going to be an explosion; the always evil and stupid military chiefs asking nonsenses to the good captain, ... etc
Some time ago I read a book written by soviet admirals (one of them went in the first trip of a nuclear sub), and the story has nothing to do with the film, but for the problems with the reactor. The rest of the details and performances of the main charachters are pure fantasy. Some people call it \"dramatization\", I consider it fraud and incompetence. You can have a good exciting film that fits well with the true events by wrinting a GOOD SCRIPT.</HTML>
